Tsunami Evacuation, Again
There were two (one and two) earthquakes in Vanuatu this afternoon that triggered a tsunami warning in Samoa. The new group of trainees had just arrived this morning. So they had a very exciting first day.
Cale and I were getting lunch when we heard the evacuation on the radio (we had a previous text from Fono about a watch). We ran to the office where we got a ride with acting Country Director, Kellye.
We evacuated up the mountain to to Dale's house with half the trainees. The warning was cancelled. There was a small tsunami generated and rumor now has it that water did rise on Savaii.
More details to come.
